  • Establishes a binding commitment between the applicant and the program once a position is matched or accepted to protect applicants and programs.
Code of Conduct
  • Promotes high ethical and professional standards for fellowship applicants and programs (including program faculty) using the SCUF Applicant Portal during the application and recruitment cycle.
  • Applicants must uphold honest and transparent communication, maintaining their professional behavior while ensuring programs have complete, timely, and accurate information, especially regarding any changes that may affect their ability to begin training.
  • Programs must prioritize transparency and wellness by publishing application details and setting universal interview release dates while ensuring all interactions with applicants are safe, respectful, and free of harmful bias.
Privacy
  • Explains how SCUF collects and uses Personal Data, which may include information like name, contact details, institutional affiliation, and educational and training credentials
Violation of Applicant Agreements
  • Establishes the procedures for reporting, investigating, and imposing sanctions for confirmed breaches of the Application Agreement, ensuring the integrity of the application process for positions both inside and outside the Match.
    • Alleged or suspected violations may be reported anonymously and are investigated at the sole discretion of the SCUF Review Panel.
    Waiver and Deferral
    • Provides the exclusive process through which applicants and programs may obtain a waiver (release from commitment) or deferral (one-year delayed start) from the binding commitment of an accepted fellowship position.
      • A waiver may be considered for circumstances demonstrating an unanticipated, serious, and extreme hardship, or if SCUF determines the applicant is ineligible to begin training.
